A video posted by 2025 Calder Trophy winner Lane Hutson to his official Instagram celebrating both his contract extension with the Canadiens and the beginning of the 25/26 season.

MY NOTES

I was contacted by Quartexx Hockey to create a video that would be posted to Lane’s main page.

Given that Lane was ramping up Training Camp, I was left on my own for music, with my only direction being, “team focused, fan focused, getting people hyped for the season”.

I was inspired by a trend on Instagram where hype soccer edits using You Really Got Me, by the Kinks were going viral. I tried to play into Lane’s fun personality at the beginning of the video (we actually made multiple versions) and he chose the “riskier” one.

We collaborated with celebrated Canadiens fan network HFTV to add an air of authenticity to the video that would resonate with fans. They responded by liking the reel 40,000 times and viewing it almost 500,000 times as of 6 days after posting.
