A video made for Wareham Gatemen Closer and Arkansas Razorbacks Pitcher Jake Faherty

MY NOTES

Inspired by Douglas Gordon and Phillippe Parreno’s film Zidane: A 21st Century Portrait, I decided to focus on the most dramatic positions in sports: the baseball closer.

My goal for this project was to put the viewer in the head of the closer. Hence the heartbeat noise, and the shot of the pitcher watching a foul ball fly by with his own eyes.

I dubbed most of the sounds in the video, saving only the crowd noise. I used a combination of stock sound effects, sound from other videos, and my own movement, including nearly throwing my arm out to record a pitching noise.
